The Port of Guangzhou opened the fourth direct container shipping route to South Korea on July 5, a development that is conducive to the sustained growth of bilateral trade.

The KSC shipping route was launched at the Nansha port area to promote the export of steel and home appliances from the west Pearl River Delta to South Korea. It offers speedy cargo service from Nansha to Inchon within six days.

Vanocean Shipping will operate an exclusive fleet of vessels on the route, providing sailings from Nansha every Sunday. The ships will leave for Shekou and Shantou and visit Inchon, Ulsan, Gwangyang and Busan ports in South Korea before heading back to Guangzhou’s Huangpu port.

The new trade route will work with Nansha port's existing services to deliver cargo straight to South Korea twice a week.

The Port of Guangzhou has been expanding its shipping network across Asia to strengthen its market influence and has added ten new trade routes so far this year.
